We have been looking for a home to buy in a small town and the price is low, but when I applied for a loan through rural development, they said my credit was bad. I have been working on cleaning it up, but have a ways to go yet. I have the money to buy the home or to make the payments, but how can I get the credit? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.House buying with bad credit?
Credit of 536 isn't 'not good'. Credit of 536 is horrible. Credit of 536 means you don't pay your bills as agreed. Why would a lender want to lend money to someone who isn't very likely to repay as agreed?
Credit of 620 is 'not good'...
The answer you read about if your FICO is 580 or better then you are approved with no money down was a spamming troll. They put this answer up to lure people like you to them so they give them money to do something and then that something never happens.
Clean up your credit and try again later.
good luck!
EDIT - Ok, 607 isn't nearly as bad for credit. I think you need to continue to work on the credit report. All payments on time every time is a great way for credit to improve. Look at your balances vs. total available credit and make sure that's a nice low number. Any judgment or legal issue has to get resolved. After that it's just a matter of time. Give it a few months and check again.
Whatever you do - do not pay a 'credit repair' service. They don't do anything you couldn't do for free. Most of them are scams anyway.House buying with bad credit?
You should look into an FHA loan. They are easier to obtain.
Generally
1. No credit lates in the last 12months
2. 3% down...or seller paid DPA
3. No BK 13 in the last 12months, No BK 7 in the last 24months, and no foreclosure in the last 36months
4. All judgments have to be paid, and you may have to pay the collections also. Medical Collections do not apply
You best bet is an FHA manual underwrite due to your score. I only have 1 lender left that will work with your score.
creditreport.fateback.com - try this service to boost you credit score before getting loan. After credit repair you can get the loan with minimal interest rate.
Hi,
Thanks for sharing the information.
Here is my suggestion for you.
Many people, websites, books and tell you that credit repair can be a do-it-yourself method. They are all absolutely right. It is your right under the FCRA to be able to errors on your credit report.
Take control and exercise your rights. There is no reason to live with the poorest of the funds, it is more important than ever to ensure that your credit is the best. Do not forget: mortgages, credit cards, insurance and even jobs may depend on your credit card!
