Lendingtree.com, how reputable is the site? can i really get a loan with bad credit?

i'm looking to buy a house but my credit score is 511, i need at least 600 to get approved. I heard about this website that will give your information to hundreds of banks and you will receive loan offers according to your information. I want to know how reputable is the site? Does it actually work and is it easy as it sounds? I understand that the loans will probably be bad loans with high interest but i don't mind to refinance once my credit score improves.
